STEVEN ADAMS EXITED THE GAME WITH AN ANKLE INJURY
Steven Adams exited the game with an ankle injury earlier in the third quarter, shortly after he got tangled up with Kristaps Porzingis.
Without Adams on the floor, the Washington Wizards were able to outscore Memphis, which caused serval lead changes early in the fourth. However, Adams returned to the court with a standing ovation from the home-court crowd in the 4th quarter. Memphis closed out the game with 103: 97. Adams ended with 4 points, 10 rebounds, and 1 assist. The Grizzlies are 4-0 at home this season.
He sustained at least nine ankle injuries between 2021 to now. The latest ankle injury before today was during 2nd round playoffs against the Warriors in San Fransisco in May. After going up for a rebound, Adams landed awkwardly on his ankle. After briefly returning to the bench, he was able to limp himself back to the locker room.
It is unclear if he will be playing against the Boston Celtics tomorrow.
