Adams held his own against the formal MVP candidate

Steven Adams was given a major task today: guarding the formal MVP candidate Joel Embiid.

Coach Jenkins of Memphis had Adams covering Embiid for the majority of the game. Although Embiid was able to put his normal numbers on the board, finished the game with 35 points, 12 rebounds, 8 assists and 3 blocks. Adams still was able to make Embiid work hard in every single procession. Adam dominated the offensive board went away with 10 offensive rebounds well as contributed a team-high 6 assists. He ended with a stat line that will make his fantasy team owner happy: 9 points, 16 rebounds, 6 assists, 3 steals and 3 blocks.



The bright spot for Memphis was Jaren Jackson Jr. He was able to add 22 points 9 rebounds 1 steal and include a huge block stopping Embiid’s late-game dunk attempt.  Morant added 28 points.

When asked about Jackson Jr’s block after the game, Adams responded:” It was great. I was way behind the play. I was like, please… please save me… And he did, it was ****ing brilliant.”
