Steven Adams puts on a show in Portland returning from injury

STEVEN ADAMS RETURNING FROM INJURY

After Steven Adams suffered a Jaw injury vs Utah Jazz on Nov 1, he returned and stuffed the stat sheets with a double-double two days later. As a result, Grizzlies were able to fend off the red hot Trailblazers from a late game rally for a 111-106 victory.

Adams had a strong overall performance in the win, adding two blocks and a season-high five assists to his double-double in points and rebounds. Adams has never known to be a shot-blocker, but this season he has blocked at least one shot in 7 games out of 8.  He is on track to average a career-high 1.5 blocks per game.

IN THIS GAME

Ja Morant had 20 points, nine rebounds and seven assists for the Grizzlies, who led by as many as 17 early in the fourth quarter. Desmond Bane scored 29 points, to help the Grizzlies snapped a two-game losing streak.
 
For the Trail Blazers, who played without top player Damian Lillard, Anfernee Simons scored 31 points. Jusuf Nurkic added 23 points and 13 rebounds.
 
A strained right calf prevented Lillard from playing in this game. Lillard, a six-time All-Star, was hurt last week during a defeat to the Miami Heat. His evaluation will be due in one or two weeks at this point.
