Steven Adams and the Grizzlies contributed to Hornets future goals

Let’s face it, Charlotte Hornets is not going to win many games this season. You will get a whipping when you play against one of the best teams in the Western Conference.

And that’s exactly what happened to the Hornets when Steven Adams and the Memphis Grizzlies come into the town tonight. Adams had 11 rebounds and Ja Morant scored 19 points of his 23 points by halftime. Both players did not return for the 4th Quarter, as the Grizzlies were leading by 31 points.

Charlotte has no answers when it comes to defending Memphis inside the paint: It was either a made bucket or a trip to the charity stripe for the Grizzlies.

On the defensive end, seven Grizzlies players finished with at least 1 steal. Jaren Jackson Jr had 3 blocks while Adams had 2 blocks, including this huge one that led to another Ja Morant alley-oops highlight:

LaMelo Ball had 23 points but shooting only 30.4% from the field. Hornets has now lost 3 in a row and sitting at the bottom of the Eastern Conference Standing.  Being at bottom of the league, Steven Adams and the Grizzlies contributed to Hornets future goals: the higher chance to draft Victor Wembanyama or Scoot Henderson next season.

Interesting facts:

  • LaMelo Ball is the 4th youngest player in NBA history to record 1000 assists. Behind Lebron James, Stephon Marbury and Trae Young.
  • Desmond Bane recorded his first ever double-double.
  • Steven Adams has 76 rebounds over the last 4 games.

What’s next?

  • Memphis hoping for a back-to-back road win against the Orlando Magic tomorrow night.
