Steven Adams sets franchise history while being honest. When asked about rebounding post-game, Adams said:” We sucked at shooting. They keep missing shots, so I went and got them.”

Steven Adams battled Domantas Sabonis, an elite rebounder and a possible all-star selection this year. While both players got double-digit rebounds in the first half, Adams ultimately won the battle. 



Both teams were even for 3 quarters. Adams rebounding created many extra second chances for the Grizzlies. It was crucial, especially during the 4th quarter as Memphis took the lead and never looked back. One of the highlights of the game was, Adams grabbed his own missed hook shoot and then jammed it in with two hands. 

After Adams grabbed 21 rebounds on Friday night and 23 tonight, he became the first player in Memphis Grizzlies franchise history with consecutive 20+ rebound games. 

The Grizzlies snapped King’s two game winning streak with all starters scoring double figure. Ja Morant score 25 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists, 1 steal and a block. Tyus Jones scored 18 points coming off the bench and made five 3 pointers.

Sabonias posted his 13th straight double-double with 18 points and 14 rebounds.

Interesting fact:

  • Steven Adams set new career highs in offensive rebounds (13) and single-game total rebounds. (23 total rebounds)
  • He tied the franchise record for rebounds in any two-game span (44).
