Steven Adams renews the All-time leader list in a hard-fought game.

Fans in Madison Square Garden were in for a treat tonight. It was a very entertaining game with both team trading buckets back and forth featured some great off-ball movements. 

The Knicks went on a 10 – 0 run before Morant showcased his hang time and assist Adams for an easy dunk put an end to it.

Jaren Jackson Jr made a three-point shot at 1.6 seconds, giving Memphis the lead and closing out the first half. The Knicks made only 3 out of 16 Three-points attempts by this point, they are currently ranked 30th for three-point percentage at the bottom of the league. 



All Memphis starters reached double-figure scoring by the late third quarter. 

Adams got a nice put-back dunk with 4 mins left in the third. 

 

Down to the wire

The game looked like Muhammad Ali vs. Joe Frazier heavy-weight fight towards the end. Both teams throwing haymakers at each other in Maddison Square garden. Dillion Brooks picked up his last foul with 25 seconds left in the game. He ended the game with a great stat line of 23 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. The Knicks took the lead with a Brunson free throw. However, Memphis took the lead right back with Morant grabbing his own miss and laying the ball in.

Jalen Brunson delivered a great performance tonight with 30 points and 9 assists, helping the Knicks to erase a 12-point deficit in the fourth.

Ultimately the Grizzlies were able to put this game away with 127-123. Morant led the team in every category with a triple-double. (27 points,10 rebounds, 14 assists and one steals) Adams delivered two consecutive double-doubles (16 points and 10 Rebounds). With his 7th offensive rebounds,  Adams has taken over Antonio McDyess for the 48th spot on the NBA All-Time offensive rebounds list with 2,479.

  • Julius Randle & Ja Morant are the last 2 winners of the most improved player award. 
  • This game featured three Canadian players: Dillion Brook, Brandon Clarke, Rj Barrett

Grizzlies: continue their road trip to Minnesota against Timberwolves on Wednesday.
